Grants & Fellowships

“GAP Community Center used grant funds to hire an event coordinator and put on twelve vaccination events in Austin and Belmont Cragin. These grants are flexible, meaning we can use what we know from hosting food pantries to get people vaccinated.”

Overview

Reaching unvaccinated populations requires transforming the way our health care system works. The Chicagoland Vaccine Partnership offers grants and fellowships to community leaders who can connect their neighborhoods to vaccines, health care, and more. By empowering leaders to take a grassroots approach to outreach, we can expand access and understanding to people who are not reached by the current health care system.

To date the Vaccine Partnership has provided over $3million in grants and fellowships to over 100 organizations.

Community Mobilization Grants

With COVID-19 disproportionately impacting communities of color in Chicagoland, the Vaccine Partnership and Health First Collaborative provided vaccine community mobilization grants to over 100 community organizations who can get the people they work with everyday vaccinated.

These grants provide flexible funding to organizations that have deep trust in their communities, but are not usually associated with public health. Grantees include food pantries, churches, youth boxing programs, and violence prevention organizations. Read stories about the work of our grantees.
